A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."
Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.
"I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."
Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere. Mark 1:40-45
We were asked if you were the leper that had been healed, what would you have done? Tell the whole world the joyous news or obey Jesus and keep quiet.
My conclusion...... Obedience is better than Praise.
How then can we obey? How do we know what our Lord is telling us?
By going back to the Word. Read it, Understand it and Live it.
During youth cell, after we shared our experience in R2ME2, Jasmine & Justin encourage Cheeri & Olivia to do some sharing from Matthew 1 - 6.
Before we closed, I felt the need to stress something from 1 Kings 19:11-13
11 The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 1 Kings 19:11-13
We just had a "wind, earthquake, fire" R2ME2. What next?
To be Mary and listen to for the "gentle whisper" of GOD.
Today's worship was awesome. Not in the "wind, earthquake, fire" way, but the "gentle whisper" way. It was in a way an extension of R2ME2. The flow of the Spirit was there. God has indeed anointed Sam Wong for this worship. Pray that Sam will take up this gift and continue to bless us with more worship lead. Thank God for this humble servant of God.
As a youth cell, we went to watch Chicken Little this afternoon.
The fact is Chicken Little is really for kids, cute and fun. But there are still lessons to learn from Chicken Little.Chicken Little's dejection doesn't come from being bullied at school, or being a nerd. It comes from his disappointed dad, who "left" him in when he needed him most.
Chicken Little once embarrassed his dad with a massive public panic attack. The sky, he says, is falling. Nobody, including his dad, believes him, and the episode becomes a black mark on crazy Chicken Little.
When another incident occurs, he enlists his friends, the Ugly Duckling, Runt of the Litter and Fish out of Water to help. Aliens are attacking earth, and only Chicken Little and his friends know about it. Desperation ensues, War of the Worlds is spoofed, and the little guy tries to save the world and mend his broken relationship with his father at the same time.
We thank God that we have a Father that is always there for us.
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8
